OMEA District XIV Band Competition
at Harrison High School

Concert Band Itinerary for Friday, March 5, 2010

3:15 PM  Arrive and dress (get here earlier if you need more than 15 minutes)
3:30 PM  Assemble in band room and take attendance
3:45 PM  Load Buses, attendance taken again
3:55 PM  Depart MHS for Harrison HS
4:55 PM  Arrive at HHS, unload and go to homeroom
5:25 PM  Move to warm-up room
5:35 PM  Warm-up (30 min. allotted)
6:15 PM  Performance time!
6:50 PM  Move to sight-reading room
7:20 PM  Go to homeroom; retrieve belongings.
7:25 PM  Load equipment in trailer, board buses and take attendance
7:45 PM  Depart Harrison High School for Milford
8:45 PM  Approximate arrival time at MHS, change clothes
9:00 PM  Have parents ready to pick you up at MHS!
  • Parents, friends, relatives, fans- please attend! Admission is free!
  • Directions to Harrison High School are included. We will perform in the auditorium!
  • Plan to eat something before arriving at school.
  • Concert attire will be worn for this event.
    Ladies: you supply black dress shoes and black hose!
    Men: you supply white tux shirt, black socks and black dress shoes
  • Students are expected to be on their BEST behavior and cooperate with chaperones at all times.
  • Students are encouraged to ride home with a parent; however, a note must be brought in to Mrs. Everett prior to departure from MHS. Students will not be permitted to ride with another student’s parents without a note from both families. Students must check in with the head chaperone before departing with their ride.
  • Chaperones are needed- we are taking 2 buses and need lots of help! Please call Suzette Ritchey at 576-9154 if you are able to be a Concert Band Chaperone.
  • Symphonic Band performs at 8:00PM.

OMEA rules stipulate:

  • The sight reading areas are off limits to the public.
  • There is to be absolutely no photography or videotaping of any sort.

    Violations of any of these rules may result in a disqualification of the entire ensemble.

Directions to Harrison High School [Google Maps View]

  • From I-275 take I-74 west
  • Take Dry fork Road Exit (Exit #3)
  • Turn Right onto Dry Fork Road
  • Travel North 1 Mile
  • Turn Left at the first stop sign (West Road)
  • Harrison HS is on the right
  • Martin-Marietta Performing Arts Center is on the left.
