Milford Band Booster Meeting

Mona George called the meeting to order

·         April’s meeting minutes approved

 

President’s Report, Mona George

·         From Lisa Hilderbrand’s email regarding the senior trip to Cedarpoint: our bus driver said the Milford students, and adults, are the most polite and well-behaved group of people he’s driven.

·         Question about whether or not the band is responsible for maintaining the circle flower bed between the concessions and the bleachers.  Decided that this was not a responsibility of the band.

·         Must be completely moved out of band rooms by Friday, May 28, 2010 at 6:00pm.  Some items will be stored in the small gym while other items will be stored at McCormick.

·         DVDs from awards night are still available for purchase.

·         Book store will not reopen until January, 2011.  Requests for even a small space so that the bookstore can open the beginning of the school year have been placed.

 

Treasurer’s Report, Joe Haas

·         Reviewed March and April statements.

 

Committee Reports

Equipment, Tony Brewer

·         Last Friday, a vehicle hit the band trailer.  Tony, Mary Beth, and Kristen are all ok.  Approx. $17,000 for instrument damage.  Insurance should cover cost.  Other driver cited and at fault for

·         Three car washes are scheduled to help with costs; scheduled for June 19, July 17, and August 7.

·         Will need to have everything out of the band room and into the small gym and hauled to McCormick.  Will start Friday at 1 pm.

 

 

 

 

 

Guard, Kristy Blankenship

·         Guard supplies removed from band room

·         Wednesday, June 2 at 4pm Civic Center for Miami Meadows parking.  Parking shifts will be scheduled for July 9th and July 10th.  This is a winter guard and winter drumline joint effort. 

 

BOA, Scott Tippets

·         St. Louis performance time slot is 1:30 – 4:30 October 16th (BOA starts on the 15th).  Most likely will be leaving after school the Friday before after school.

·         Still working on the budget based on whether or not we’ll be there one or two nights—most likely will be two nights. 

 

Old Business

·         We don’t have final numbers for Disney; still waiting patiently. 

·         No meeting in June; next meeting July 27th, 7:30 pm at McCormick

 

New Business

·         Voting for by-laws has been tabled and will be voted on during the July 27th meeting.

·         A process for interviewing has begun in the school’s search for an assistant band director to replace….
