TREASURER’S REPORT:  Brenda Bayne – Report accepted without revision. 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:  Kim Slade – Thank you to everyone for making this a great marching band season.  I think the kids had a great season.  The Disney trip was wonderful and the kids gave a great performance in the afternoon parade.  We have many things coming up that will continue to need our support.  We’ll have many things coming up that may be labeled “Winter Guard” or “Drumline” but please recognize that we’ll still need everyone’s help!

Budget issues – The OMEA conference will be held here in Cincinnati this February.  Mr. Schrameck and Mrs. Everett would like to be able to attend.  The administration said great, but they cannot afford to pay for their registrations.  A motion was made, seconded, and approved unanimously to financially support their registrations up to $200.  Mr. Brown will stay behind and hold down the fort while they participate in the conference.

Mr. Schrameck has mentioned to us that he has not been given a budget to purchase new music for the Junior High program for some time, and he’s asked if Boosters could allocate some resources to make a few purchases.  After a robust discussion at the meeting, a motion was made, seconded, and approved to release up to $600 towards the purchase of new music.  To assist in supporting this effort, a motion was made and approved to collect donations at the Holiday concerts for music. 

DIRECTOR’S REPORT:  Mr. Brown – Thanks to the Boosters for supporting Mr. Schramek and Mrs. Everett for the February conference.  Please consider attending the OMEA Honor Band Concert this Sunday, December 2, at Walnut Hills High School.  In preparation for the Holiday concert on December 17, Symphonic Band will have an extra rehearsal on December 10 (3-5 pm).  Concert Band will have TWO extra rehearsals – the first on December 6 (3-5 pm) and the second on December 12 (3-5 pm).  The Junior High Holiday Concert will be on December 13, and both concerts begin at 7:00 pm.  Chaperones are needed for the High School Concert.  Jazz Band will be starting this Thursday after school, with rehearsals on Tues/Thurs from 3 – 4:30.  Finally, thank everyone that went to Florida with us.  We had a lot of fun and I know the kids had a ball!  Great trip.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

SCRIP, Krogers, Meijers, Dominos, Panera:  Joe Haas – The final order for this year will be placed on December 2 at 6pm.  (Items to be available in the following week.) Remember, December 15 is the date for fruit/poinsettia/butter braid pickup. 

Chaperones: Bev and Theresa – Thanks to the chaperones for joining us in Disney.  A special note of thanks to Tony Brewer for staying back with the sick kid on the last day.

Drumline:  Ann Shook –Last night was the first night and we’re just getting started.

Marching Band Uniforms:  Kathy Christopher – Everything’s laundered and returned.  Thanks to all who helped with the laundry and uniform distribution. 

Concert Uniforms:  We are short about 5 tuxedo jackets and money is needed to purchase additional (smaller) sizes.  Mr. Brown to see if Board will pay for jackets.  Motion made and approved to allocate $50 money to Sue to purchase the “sliders” needed for the pants. 

New Business:

Milford to host the OMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival for the first time on February 2, 2008.  Lisa Cieslewicz will be coordinating the event.  There is A LOT of work to be done – has been done at Princeton for several years previously.  Many Boosters will be needed to pull this off.  This could be a great money making event for us as we can reap the profits earned in the cafeteria!  STAY TUNED for details.  We’ll need your help!

Next Meeting:  We will not have a Booster meeting in December, so our next meeting will be on January 22^nd.

November 30 – December 2 Rehearsals for the OMEA District XIV Honor Band with the performance at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 2 at Walnut Hills HS.

            December 13 – Junior High Holiday Concert  7 pm

            December 15 – Fruit, Poinsettia, and Butter Braid pickup

            December 17 – High School Holiday Concert  7 pm

            January 22 – Next Booster Meeting (no meeting in DecemberL)

            February 2 – HS Solo and Ensemble Event at Milford

            March 8 – Milford Drumline Show!!!!
