MILFORD BAND BOOSTER MEETING AGENDA

JUNE 26, 2007

CALL TO ORDER:  Sign in sheet.  Welcome to any new parents joining us this evening.

MAY MINUTES:  Approved with no revisions

TREASURER’S REPORT:            Approved with no revisions

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: We look forward to working with everyone this year as we begin the year with changes and new faces on the field and amongst our staff.  The raincoats have been ordered!!!!  Thanks to Kathy Christopher for the breakdown of the sizes.  Mike Miller honored the lower price per coat.  We should have them in about 10 weeks.  Committees are hard at work as we speak planning for fundraising efforts and band camp, just around the corner.  We still are looking for a person(s) to help with contest meals.

DIRECTOR’S REPORT: No report from the directors at this meeting, but the Boosters wish to extend a heart felt welcome to Mrs. Everett.  We are all anxious to get to know you!

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Ways and Means:  Kim Haas reported on two successful recent fundraisers:  Biggs bag day $732; Max & Erma’s day $390.  Buddy Card sale will begin on July 23 for four weeks - $10/card with $4.00 of that being Fair Share.  Laser Tag tickets are now on sale for $20 with the event to be held on August 3.  Waterworks wants us back for $1/car plus donations more details to come.  Additional fund raising activities to be aware of are Bingo workers (contact Connie Dugoid) and Coney Island (contact Ann Shook).

Bev Pineault – Buy It Books are sold out!!! More than 150 books were sold!

Ann Shook – Miami Meadows Parking – volunteers needed for July 13 and 14.

Connie Duguid – Rummage Sale (Does anyone know where the grill might be?)

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN: Carl Lindner’s very recent donation of $7500 has put us over the top of what was needed to pay off the raincoats!  Lisa Cieslewicz has given a list to Kim with donors who have contributed to date and amounts.  She will continue to pursue grants for instruments and uniforms. More than $13,000 has been received so far!

DELEGATE AT LARGE:  Raylene Gerber – no report this month

CHAPERONES:  Bev Pineault reports a need for chaperones to cover the Band Camp hours and a call for volunteers will be emailed to the general listserv soon.  New parents are especially encouraged to consider trying this as a way to get involved with the Boosters.

EQUIPMENT:  Bob Slade – Discussions have occurred to have the trailers repainted with a new logo, but we have been advised by our trailer painter NOT to switch graphics on the trailer.  He explains that we will not be able to paint over the old eagle sufficiently to prevent the eagle from “bleeding” through.  Instead, Bob spoke with him about refreshing our existing logo on both trailers.  An estimate of costs to refresh both trailers is $600, and listing the 6 different bands for an additional $200.   A motion made to allow up to $1000 for trailer refurbishing, seconded, unanimously approved.   Trailers need to be scrubbed around July 11th and Bob will email details later to listserv.  Shed clean up is coming!  Bob plans to get volunteers to assist in emptying the shed, repairing the floor and building shelves, then loading it back up!  All of this is to take place on July 27 and 28.

DRUMLINE:  Ann Shook – “You’ve Been Flocked!” potential fund raiser under consideration for Winter Drumline and Winter Guard.  More details to follow.

GUARD:  Connie Duguid – There will be a rummage sale on July 7th (9:30 – 3:30)in the soccer lot at the high school; proceeds to benefit both Winter Drumline and Winter Guard.  LOTS of volunteers are needed to assist with this project.  We plan to sell ice cream sundies, drinks, hot dogs and chips.  Donations of all sorts are accepted and can be dropped off at Connie’s home.  Call her for more details.
