Mr. Borchard made a donation personally to band boosters, We will send thank you to him, as we really appreciate his support. Some expenditures, gas and audio equipment, amps and mikes to amplify pit equipment. Clinicians have been paid, and an expenditure for winter drumline has been paid.
Treasurer’s Report accepted.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Jill wants to thank everyone who helped during homecoming, greatly appreciated. We had a great senior party at her house. Senior agenda starts at 5:00 in cafeteria or auditorium. All parents welcome to come to this. It is a nice thing to hear and share with the kids.
Jill thanks all of the people who sewed flags, the flags look great and were done earlier then ever and everyone is working hard! Reminder that nationals is coming up, we need posters for the hallways, so get busy early on making your posters!! Jill appreciates all of your help and thanks during this difficult time for her and her family.
DIRECTORS’ REPORTS:
Mr. Brown:
Mr. Schrameck:
Mrs. Towner: Itineraries are posted, these are complicated because daylight savings time will affect the times.
Plan
A , B, & C are in place. Times are correct and explicitly explained. We
will be seeing a lot of great bands because of our early time. Wordplay
t-shirts and band jackets to be worn inside dome. Parking is under
construction, we don’t know where we will be parking. A lot of decisions will
be made at the time we are there and see what is happening. Stadium food and
prices are regular prices, so be sure kids have enough extra money to purchase
their lunch. The boosters will be giving each $5.00, but they will need more
than this. We will be changing on buses. Link on bands.org website for dvd.
Ticket information on website.
Phone chain on Saturday to let everyone know if we are on plan A or B.
Friday night football, will be an early night, so everyone will be able to get home and sleep to get up for our early departure.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
COLOR GUARD: Kim Niehaus: not here,
DELEGATE AT LARGE: Teresa Essex – She attended the Board meeting and says we are behind in the finances, and we need to pass the levy. They hinted that there will be cuts. Hinted that the 6th grade band could meet before the school day, instead of during the day. Pretty bleak looking, not sure of all ways this will affect the band. Indy trips approved, not known how things will affect spring activities for the band.
WAYS AND MEANS: Jenna Atkinson: Market day is over, delivery tomorrow. Delivery in commons 5:30-6:30. We need to raise funds for next year for additional instruments. Need ideas for these fund raisers. Panera bread fund raiser info has been sent by email, this would be fair share, need to know a prelim count on who is interested. Looks like we have enough interest to make an order. Fruit sale is arranged, and information should be sent out soon, this is a fair share fundraiser.
Patty shared that we need to have a fundraiser to purchase additional instruments and equipment for next year. A xylophone runs around $6000, we are not sure of the amount we will need to fundraise, but it will be significant. We are interested in an event, rather than selling items. Could we go to local businesses and ask for donations, and show them as a sponsor? If we want to do this, we need to get in early to the businesses.
If we get a tractor-trailer for next year, will sponsors be tied into that? Steve Howes says that it is not uncommon for a trailer could be donated, we need to explore how other schools are set up as far as the tractor trailer. There are other expenses included in the whole set up. Steve will talk to Mr. Borchard and get more information.
Fruit sale is set up to go, will change turn in date to Tuesday instead of Monday. Good option may be to include the 6, 7, 8 grades in the fruit sale.
Email Jenna ideas regarding fundraisers. She appreciates your help and knowledge!

Tickets are all taken, will see if they can get some more.
Rick – mcdonalds order processed and should be there. Lunch- kids in the dome on their own. Dinner will be KFC, we will have to tell them where to deliver chicken. We may have to perform early. Lunch on their own in dome. Sat evening hard rock café buffet. Everything set up.

Patty will hand out food money as kids get off the buses at Regionals and nationals.
Parking lots all different this year.
Create a cell phone list for all adults who are going to Indy.
CONTEST FOOD: Cathy Baker, Jackie Tompkins, Marla Hejma - Jill thanks Jackie for filling in last week. Dinner Arby’s will be easy to serve on Friday. Budget looks like plenty for this Friday.

WEB SITE: Tom Rocklin – doing an awesome job! Thank you very much!
TELEPHONE CHAIN :Jill Waeber – I have two lists and they are all sent out. Phone list ready to go!
OLD BUSINESS / UNFINISHED BUSINESS - re-evaluating parkas, not really what we want, not long enough, or warm enough, not waterproof. We will not bring the coats to BOA, we are going to take out time and figure out the best source to get all new coats. We will need fundraising for this, and the $750 from Sam’s will be earmarked for this. Fairfield had longer raincoats, sat on them, knees were covered. Lets talk to Fairfield. Is there someplace we can unload ours and get some money?? Will check into this. Kathy says they are past their prime, and thinks they will fall apart in the wash. Money sitting there and we need to make a decision. Now would be the time to unload the old uniforms and parkas to our band kids, or it will be too late and they won’t have the attachment to them, nor want them. Need to talk to the school board and see if this is able to be done.
Still have booster shirts available to purchase, sweatshirts and two kids jackets.
The bylaws and constitution that was handed out at the last meeting, there was an error that needs to be changed, per Jill. Does anyone have any changes that need to be discussed? Kathy Evans suggests that the part of the bylaws and constitution that states the executive committee has a meeting before band booster meetings, should be changed to read ‘as needed’. No other changes needed. Motion made to accept and seconded. Two Bylaws and constitution changes accepted and approved.
Equipment inventory needed for equipment and uniforms so Jill can submit it to the school board. Instruments, not included.
Photo shoot November 17th before the parade. Jill will coordinate this. Kids come in during study halls and get their photo taken. Jill need help with uniforms and photo shoot. First thing in morning, 7:50 and to last all day.
Marching band shows next year. Directors want to have a show here in Milford. We need to start as soon as Nationals is over to make initial plans to proceed with this. With donors and food, it is a huge job. Every family in the booster program needs to help to make this successful. Mason made $20,000 at their show.
New business: Winterguard /Drumline show March 18th. We need tons of volunteers. Save this weekend. It is a ONE day show this year. We have to form committees by December and figure out basics. Drumline will be attending the show this year.
No band booster meeting in December.
Jill Waeber, Booster President-
ADJOURN: Meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm
