Going over the Regionals and need to have the number of kids, which Ms. Towner says is 161 as of today. Discussions were made as to the number of chaperones needed and the number of buses needed.
Need to discuss finals tickets. Follow the same pattern as last year. Perform at 4:00. We should plan to do a meal Friday night about 8:00. A contact was made last year at smoky bones, we are staying at the Omni hotel this year. It is possible that they will get a banquet room at hotel and cater the food in for the meal, will be checking to be sure this can still happen. Need to double check the awards ceremony time and coordinate it with the meal. Rick Wamshur will help with planning the meals. Awards are at 8:45, Ms. Towner checked web site. Will have to have a snack and eat after awards, a lot needs to be worked out as far as time, but will be resolved soon. Will only be staying Friday night.
PUBLICITY:
Not here, not report.
WEB SITE:
Tom Rocklin is heading up this again. Look on website for forms that were in the packet. Special forms Jill will send him in case you need to print a copy.
CONCERT UNIFORMS:
Rosanna Ortlepp – we are going to need an additional rack for the uniforms. The question of using raincoats for the band members was brought up, whether we will need them, and do we have room to transport them and store them, drying them. And will we do raincoats? And where will they be kept? It is agreed that they would be nice to have and Mr. brown suggested the coats be kept in trailers and if not needed, keep them in band room during performance. School board at south, maybe there would be storage room there. Would there be trailer space for rain coats to go to the performances? Will need another uniform rack. Also, Rosanna needs volunteers to fit shoes and take pictures, hand hemming on August 1-5, during sectionals about 12:30 – 3:00 and will always need volunteers for launderers throughout the year. Also discussed is covering bleachers for football games. Need volunteer to cover the bleachers before the kids need to sit down, before the band does. Joni suggested a pit crew volunteer could help, and she has volunteered.
MARCHING UNIFORMS:
Kathy – uniforms are finished and expecting them soon. Do not know the exact time, maybe next week. Discussions regarding what to do with the old uniforms: We still have 127 black and white old uniforms. We might make room in the back of the shed, we have not had direction on what we can do with them. Can we sell them to the students? Make pillow from old uniforms??
CHAPERONES:
All forms made out for competitions and games. Will handle it the same way as last year, putting forms out at the band camp dinner for volunteer sign ups.
EQUIPMENT: Steve Howes
Steve is not here, no report.
DELEGATE AT LARGE: Teresa Essex
Not here tonight, no report.
SENIOR COMMITTEE: Vickie Pielsticker
Letter sent out to the senior parents, senior meeting 8/3 at 7:30pm.
$40 / senior fee added to accounts by treasurer.
OLD BUSINESS/ UNFINISHED BUSINESS: none
NEW BUSINESS:
Do we have any interest in working labor day fireworks for Nelson chicken? We need about 20 people. Patty says probably will have enough. Email to be sent out.
Do we want seniors or all to be able to get pictures done by Keiser in New uniform?
Yard Mister?
Not much luck finding this item. Wendy used them at UC and will check on the vender, she thinks they are probably rented.
Mr. Brown speaks on the district budget cuts. $10,500 cut out of the board money we are given. Mr. Brown thinks this won’t affect us very much, no big budget spending planned for this year anyway.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30
Respectfully submitted,
Susan B. Sloan,
