BAND BOOSTER MEETING
MAY 20, 2004
The meeting was called to order at 7:40pm
President - Spring Concert was great. Banquet is being planned and helpers are needed. Please let Anne know if you are available especially for cleanup.
Director’s Report – Plans are under control for the Band Awards Ceremony on Tuesday. Thanks to the parents who helped with the Spring Concert. Saturday, Memorial Day Weekend the American Legion... a small brass group of volunteers will perform for half hour at noon. Parade practice Frontiers Day, Memorial Day. Mini Band Camp June 10th 9 to 12. Cedar Point June 2nd and 3rd. Graduation performance.
Paul - Junior High Band is ready for their concert….Come on out at 5:45 to support and listen. There are lots of great restaurants near Sycamore Jr. High. We expect them to do very well. Very high level of interest from the 5th graders to participate in band next year. There have been many phone calls since the concert with interest to join band for the upcoming school year.
Jodi - Thanks a lot to all who helped with Spring Concert. Next Thursday at 9:45 Army Brass Quintet will perform in Concert at the High School on their way to Cleveland.
BOA - Steve Howes – The Embassy Suites downtown Indy has been booked for this year!!! Thanks Steve
Color Guard - Nancy Brennan The meeting tonight went well. A meeting will be held on a regular basis for color guard productive get together
Ways and Means - Biz - Buy It Books are still available. Nelsons will be catering the Fourth of July at Riverfront. There will be a food and drink concession. A minimum of twenty people are needed…Biz will be putting further information on the web site. This will be another fare share opportunity. Great seats to see the Fireworks and Labor Day River Fest. Miami Meadows will be sponsoring Mid Summer in the Meadows on July 10th. We have been given an exclusive right to park the cars. Twenty-five people are needed to run the event. This will be a Fund Raiser for the General Fund.

The Kroger card for $25.00 will be on the monthly script order.

PUBLICITY – No Report
Concert Uniforms – Uniforms need to be cleaned the cost is approximately $425 to $450. This must be done soon. It can not put off until July. Motion was made to clean the tuxedo. All approved. The girls concert pants need to be washed are there any volunteers?? We are making new shirts for the girls anyone with sewing ability??
It will be real tight to match uniforms for incoming band members there may not be enough. The question was posed should we size in June? Gloves are paid for by the Boosters. We need to lock them up. Kids found them!!! Shoes need to be addressed. Bleacher covers are needed. Sherwin Williams may donate disposable carpet runner for bleachers.
Jamie and Rosanna have an idea they would like to train another uniform MOM!! Great idea this will be put it on the web site.
GUARD UNIFORM
CHAPERONES – Chaperones are needed for tomorrow!!! May 21st we will be leaving at 4:00pm and be back by 7pm. Nancy volunteered.
EQUIPMENT – Still Does not care!! Steve is handling the parades and graduation on June 4th.
DELGATE AT LARGE – Elementary School Principals were amazed at the crowed the Spring Concert drew.
SENIOR COMMITTEE – Thirty seniors and seven adults will be going on the Cedar Point trip this June 2nd and 3rd.
